Harry Potter Fest Contests:
Compete with fellow wizards in a rousing match of Quidditch
or to create the best costumes, essays, illustrations and
bike decorations. You could win exciting prizes and help to
make points toward the House Cup. Headmaster Professor Albus
Dumbledore will bestow prizes and honors to winners in each
of the following categories:
Quidditch Cup:
Can you compete in the wizard world? Gather your team of
nine players, boys and girls ages 10 and up. An adult coach
is required. The first four teams to complete their
registration will be entitled to play on July 20th
for the Harry Potter Fest Quidditch Match. For more

Best
Costume:
Come to the events in your best Harry Potter regalia for a
chance to win a free copy of
Harry Potter and the
Deathly Hallows. Don’t forget Fido and Felina!
Pets can win prizes too! Highest marks will go to those
costumes with originality and flair. All ages.
Best Essay -
Hogwarts Expressions:
Tell us why you would like to ride on the Hogwarts Express
for a chance to win two tickets on our version, the Wizard
Express. Submissions due by 7/10/07. For ages 12 and under.
Winners will be notified by 7/15/07.
Best
Artistic Illustration of a Magical Creature:
Prizes for best artistic submissions include a
copy of
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and an
opportunity to have your work displayed in the Blue Heron
Bookstore Gallery. Highest marks will go to illustrations of
creatures that might be found in our own Forbidden Forest (CVNP).

Best Bike
Decoration:
“Flying” down the Towpath Trail on your favorite bike is as
close to riding a Firebolt or Nimbus 2000 as most of us
land-based wizards will ever get. Bring your bike, decked
out in its finest wizard-ware, or join the crew at Quality
Quidditch Supplies (Century Cycles) on Friday from 6:00 –
8:00pm for the decorating party. BYOB (bike/broom). You
could win a Firebolt broomstick! For ages 16 and under.
The House
Cup:
The objective of the House Cup Contest is to earn your
house, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, as
many points as possible. To earn points in the World of
Harry Potter, you must visit as many locations on the
Marauders Map as you can and receive a mark from each. The
number of marks each student acquires for his or her house
will be tabulated at the awards ceremony. The house with the
most marks (points) will win The House Cup. Each member of
the winning house will receive an Award Certificate. All
ages.
Wizard Quest:
Wizard Quest is a 20 station question and answer challenge
based on the Harry Potter books and movies. Novice and
experienced wizards are invited to follow the Wizard Quest
trail through the fields at Heritage Farms. Those accepting
the challenge must understand that the trail is long and the
questions will be difficult. Also, like the stairways at
Hogwarts, Wizard Quest questions can change at any time. The
cost of the Quest is $3.00 (muggle money). Winner will be
chosen based on the number of correct answers. Wizards and
muggles may enter the Quest as often as they like. Prizes
will be awarded. The GRAND PRIZE will be a copy of the new
Harry Potter book, the first spot at the front of the line
at The Blue Heron Bookstore in Peninsula for the book
release at 12:01am July 21, 2007, plus a caldron full of
additional wizarding supplies.

Rules:
No purchase necessary to win. You may enter each contest
only once. Essays and illustrations must be submitted by
July 10, 2007 to the Blue Heron Bookstore at 1593 Main
Street, Peninsula, OH 44264. No exceptions. All decisions
are final. Include your name, age, address and email (if
applicable) on your submission. A parent/legal guardian
signature is required for participation if the applicant is
a minor. All entries must be fully original. Essays should
be no longer than 200 words and typed or clearly printed on
8.5”x 11” paper. Illustrations should be no larger than 12”x
24”. Artwork submissions may be picked up at the Blue Heron
Bookstore on July 21st after 4:30pm. Essays will not be
returned. The Blue Heron Bookstore assumes no responsibility
for lost, damaged or late entries.
