Currently accepting submissions.
We have standardized the deadlines for our exhibits. During the month prior to each exhibit, submissions will be due by the 15th. Artists will be notified of their accepted works by the 20th, and the matted and framed pieces will be due by the 30th. We ask that artists pick up any pieces that have not sold by the 5th of the month after the end of an exhibit.
For example, for our April/May show, Spring to Life,
we ask that pieces be submitted by the 15th of
March. Artists will be notified by the March 20th,
and will need to deliver their chosen pieces by
March 30th, allowing us to have the exhibit ready for display by April first. Works will be displayed for April and May, and artists will be asked to pick up any unsold pieces by the 5th of June.
Please keep in mind Blue Heron Bookstore Artists' Guidelines when choosing items for submission:
BHBS Submission Policy

· Pieces should be no larger than 11"x14" as our space is limited.
Frames should not be much larger. Exceptions may be made on an
individual basis.
· Artists should price their own works if they want them up for sale.
· Works must be submitted before the deadline. We will contact you
within five business days of that deadline to let you know if we
chose your piece(s) and when we will need it/them.
· The artist is responsible for delivering his/her work(s) to the
bookstore.
· Solo shows will be discussed on a person-to-person basis.
· There is no limit to the number of submissions or how many times
one may submit.
· Submitted works are NOT guaranteed to be chosen.
. Provide us with a dated consignment invoice of your work with
contact information (name, address, phone number, email address)
as well as the name of the piece & the retail price.
. Provide the same information on the back of each piece to be sold.
If your work sells:
· We will notify you when you have a buyer(s).
· We will take a 30% commission for all sold pieces. After we
receive the payment(s), we will send the balance due to you.
· The buyer will either pick up the work at the bookstore or we will
ship it.
· If the artist prefers to mail it personally, that can be arranged.
Unsold pieces or works not up for sale:
· The artist is responsible for claiming any works not up for sale or
unsold pieces within two weeks of the themed exhibitions closing
date.
